This is our 3rd time moving back to Mason since 1997. We love to see how the city has changed and love the new website!

Belle & Andy Putnam, Howard, Toby, Jack, Wyllodean, Phyllis, Robert, Glenna, Anna Mae, Jim Putnam loved living in Mason on Church St. where I was born in 1929. I graduated in 1947. The Arts Senior Living on Snider Road is so beautiful. The new website was so helpful. Thank you Mason Historical Society.

I moved to Warren Cnty.from Columbus(Oh) in 1966 and graduated from Wm Mason H.S.in 1969 . I worked for Pat's Printing (Pat DiAngelo) until Jan.1970 .I married my high school sweetheart (a Kings grad) that year and moved to Santa Barbara Calif. We're both still happily married after 47 years (how time flies) . College , careers , moves , and life happened , but I look back at my time in Mason as some of the best years of my life . My only regret is that I didn't get a 1969 Wm. Mason H.S. yearbook . I would love just to see one . I now live in Columbus and plan to visit the Mason Historical Society this year and hopefully see some memorabilia from my era . Also , my brother Rod May had to leave Mason after his junior year (1973) due to parent's move back to Columbus . A move he says he regrets to this day . He says Mason was his "wonder years" and wouldn't trade them for anything . I agree .

I lived in Mason from 1938 until 1973 and graduated from William Mason High School (Formerly simply Mason High School) in 1956. Mason was a small farming-oriented community back then and I can remember when the total population of the town was 800 people. There was one stoplight in the center of town at Mason/Montgomery Road and U.S. Rte 42 and that was it! One policeman, one doctor, one dentist -- several grocery stores and at least 7 churches. My bound 1,000+ typewritten pages entitled, "Memories Of A Mason Childhood" should be tucked away somewhere in a cabinet at the Mason Historical Society (The Old Alverta Green House) in case anybody is interested.

John, Your notebooks, four of those, sit proudly on new bookshelves in the new 1,400 square foot addition to the museum. Stop by sometime to see what is displayed. Thanks for visiting our website. I'm certain the name Junior Spaeth rings a bell. Les died at the age of 92 on May 30. He would have been 93 on July 24. He was born in 1924 and still had vivid memories of the 1930 east end fire. Jerry, I had heard of the passing of Mr. Spaeth and was deeply saddened because he was a wonderful person and did a lot to help me when I was just a kid and trying to put out that little Mason newspaper, "The Mason Tribune." Les was a friend to everybody and I know in my heart that he was one of Mason's most respected Citizens whose many activities positively touched the lives of God only knows how many people. I remember when it was he who got me an honorary membership in The Mason Businessmen's Association back in the 1950s ... when I was just 14 years old -- A real honor for a kid! Thanks for the note about my notebooks. I am proud they are still available at the Museum. I will get down to Mason when I can and thank you for everything.

I'm probably related to you if you were here pre 1850s.....in some manner! See WCGS descendant lists too. I have the most pre - 1820 apps submitted. If you can beat 40 I dare or I challenge you, to best me! Have Fun!! One of Col Mason Daughter is my Aunt. My surnames are at WCGS. Call me anytime 513-314-1392 cell(leave VM ).
